Our family had this book when I was growing up. It is a lot of fun. I am now enjoying reading it to my grandchildren. There is just one problem with this edition. Dr. Seuss' account of the bombastic aghast and when he goes home to scramble up all his collected eggs is turned around. The copy has him scrambling the eggs before he collects the most dangerous of all the eggs. I don't remember the book reading this way. It makes no sense. I think there was a publishing error.

My grandson loves to have this book read to him at breakfast time!
Great to have available for my Suess collection for the grandson
Still a favorite from my childhood and now my children get to enjoy it. Fun Easter gift too! 😉 Price was great for Dr. Suess's birthday and I absolutely love this story. Great quality book too.
One of my favs since childhood. This, along with What Was I Scared Of? and Hop on Pop. Dr. Seuss had a hilarious imagination. The illustrations and text are both lots of fun. Everyone needs a fun diversion a la Dr. Seuss.
I read this to my daughter. She really enjoyed it. I like his books as well. I don't know where Dr. Seuss comes up with some words, but they are really tongue twisters. I would recommend!
LOVE THE BOOK BUT the Publisher -- Random House -- screwed up the print job.
I ordered a copy in May 2018, and now see the other reports that people have complained about the last two sets of pages being out of order. This will affect the entire print run of books -- the error is from Random House.

EXCEPT -- that I've talked to Customer Service now, so they are aware that the books in their warehouse are defective. In an ideal world, should now put a block on their current inventory until Random House corrects and replaces the book -- and anyone who got a bad copy should get a replacement.

The pity is that this is a wonderful, wonderful book -- I've had my own copy for close to 60 years. It's my favorite of Dr. Seuss's books. But you can't have the end of the story mixed up in its order. That's not Dr. Seuss's error. Again, that's Random House and now on .
This book is one I grew up reading, well-loved in my house and showing it's age. So I purchased a new copy for my daughter's birthday. The first time I read it to her, she called out "You skipped a page!" As it turns out, the last three pages of our new book were printed out of order.
Other than the mis-print, I love the book. Crisp colors on the pages and a great story about trying something new; my kids want to know who paid for the expense of gathering all those eggs, I guess Peter T. Hooper has one heck of an allowance!
